Job Summary
The Pump attendant will be responsible for maintaining customer service as per company standards, generating fuel and other automotive products sales, processing credit or debit card transactions, and refer cheques to manager/supervisor for validation.
Tasks
1. Clean parking areas, offices, restrooms, and equipment, and remove trash.
2. Provide minor service and maintenance such as washing windshields, checking fluid levels and air pressure.
3. Collect cash payments from customers and make change, or charge purchases to customers' credit cards and provide customers with receipts.
4. Activate fuel pumps and fill fuel tanks of vehicles with gasoline or diesel fuel to specified levels.
5. Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
6. Compute and record totals of transactions.
Physical/Mental Requirements
• Ability to communicate with associates and guests effectively.
• Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
• Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to effectively perform job.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
Minimum Knowledge Skills/Experience
• Must have a High School Diploma/3 CXC subjects including English.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as department manual.
• Ability to speak effectively with customers.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Must be able to work with minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions.
